I am Shariful Rukon (Shariful Islam), an investigative journalist from Chattogram, Bangladesh, with over a decade of experience in exposing corruption and malpractice, particularly within the healthcare sector.
My journey in journalism began in 2013 as the Chief Reporter for Kishorkal, a juvenile publication in Chattogram. Since then, I have worked with several prominent media outlets, including Banglamail24.com, The Daily Alokito Bangladesh, and The Daily Protidiner Sangbad.
Currently, I am a Chief Reporter at ekusheypatrika.com, where I focus on investigative journalism.

I received the Investigative Journalism Fellowship (2021) and theInvestigative Journalism Awardfor two consecutive years (2023 & 2024) from Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).
I have been honoured with the BRAC Migration Media Award for three consecutive years (2022, 2023, and 2024). Additionally, I received the BAJUS Media Award in 2023 and the Plan International Media Award in 2025.
Furthermore, my report on arsenic pollution's impact on children was nominated for the 'UNICEF Meena Media Award-2021'. In 2023, one of my investigative series was selected by the Global Investigative Journalism Network (GIJN) as one of Bangladesh's best investigative reports.
Additionally, I have been awarded fellowships from the Earth Journalism Network and ActionAid Bangladesh. I am also an alumnus of the Media Resources Development Initiative (MRDI). I am also a member of the Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF) alumni family.
