Rulon Jones

A former professional football player, Rulon Jones has dedicated more than two decades to his ownership of Broadmouth Canyon Ranch, the region's largest hunting reserve. Stewarding tens of thousands of pristine mountain acres in northern Utah, coupled with 5,000 additional acres of rugged land in Idaho's Blackfoot Mountains, Rulon Jones has developed his territory into some of the finest hunting grounds available anywhere in the United States. The Broadmouth Canyon Ranch features Shiras moose, mule deer, and buffalo in addition to self-propagating elk, cougars, and other animals. Rulon Jones maintains and directs a team of professional hunt leaders who guide participants through exhilarating multiday hunting trips.

Before launching his wilderness preserve and hunting ranch, Rulon Jones was drafted by the Denver Broncos, a leading National Football League (NFL) team in 1980. Following a successful career as a student-athlete with the Utah State University football program, Jones played for the Broncos for eight years, during which time he competed in more than 120 games and recorded more than 50 quarterback sacks. Recognizing his excellence on the field, United Press International named Jones its 1986 AFL-AFC Player of the Year on defense. He retired from professional football at the close of the 1988 season and opened his first wildlife ranch the following year.

Hunting is a passion as well as a vocation for Rulon Jones, who enjoys big-game hunting in the wilderness of Utah and Idaho in his spare time. He currently resides with his wife, Kathy, in Firth, Idaho.
