Hi! I’m Tyler. I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Student-Intern. My passion is to help my clients find a richer life experience through personal growth. I focus on building mental serenity, through helping clients develop new patters of behavior and changing negative thought patterns. The journey to find mental serenity includes building a fulfilled, meaningful, and richer life that balances core portions of our existence. A Balanced life includes taking care of our mental, physical, social, spiritual, and professional needs.
My specialties include working with the LGBT population. Many within the LGBT community find it important to work with a therapist who has direct knowledge and experience of the community. Member of the community often struggle with issues that are not experience by the dominant culture. Dealing with discrimination, coming out, discovering an “Authentic” self, along with social pressures can led to higher mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, substance abuse. Therapy can help with balancing spiritual beliefs with your sexual identity, and improving commutation with your family.
From earning my Eagle Scout, to BS in Human Service Counseling, to 10 years working in retail, I believe that I have developed a wide skill set to help you find mental serenity. I use a Cognitive Behavioral approach to solving problems, and focus on helping you achieve the goals you want for your life.
