Rushab Shah
Student in Athens
My name, Rushab, was given to me by my great-grandmother and it signifies the strong connection I hold to my Indian heritage and culture. Originating from the Sanskrit word “rishaba”, a bull in Hindu literature, my name is a symbol of perseverance and strength. I have imbibed these qualities throughout my personal and professional ventures. I studied Taido, a Japanese martial art form, for over 10 years and trained intensively as I worked towards earning my black belt. I earned my Black Belt in May 2024 on the same day as my high school graduation. It was my dream to gain acceptance to UGA and I am currently a Freshman as an intended Business major. I am thankful to be at this institution where a lot of my friends from Dunwoody also attend. I look forward to an amazing four years here.
