Russell Gilbert

My entire life I have either played sports or been around them in some way. After graduating college from UNCW in 2007, my goal was to do whatever I could to get myself in a position to work for a major sports team. Everyone I meet I enjoy speaking with and they alwasy told me I should be in sales. So I figured, take your passion and what your good at, and turn it into a career. I began my career with Advantage Promotions working with high school, college and semi-pro teams creating schedules and selling advertising to help promote and increase ticket revenue. This was just the beginning. I then wanted to be closer to where I grew up in Salisbury and relocated to Charlotte to chase my goal even further. My next step was working for the Charlotte Motor Speedway where I continue to work during events to learn more about the business of sports. My current employer, the Attractions Dining and Value Guide, has given me more opportunities to be involved in the sporting industry, helping youth sports organizations raise much needed funds for items, fees and team needs. I have always believed that you must set goals and do whatever it takes to reach them. I am ready and excited for the challenge. I consider myself an experienced sales and customer service professional who is able to handle high volumes of customers in a fast-paced environment. I'm an energetic, hard-working, goal-driven team player and motivator with excellent listening, oral and written communication skills. I am comfortable in interacting with all levels of business and public. I strive daily to learn more and grow on a personal and professional level. I bring enthusiasm, energy and a big smile with me daily and have never met a stranger!
