Hello, I am a 48 year old man, married, with three children. My wife is a school teacher and has been so for the past 25 years. My oldest child is Matthew, age 27 with a wife and two children. Matt is in the Military and stationed in Mayport, Florida. My second child is Elizabeth who is 24. She is a school teacher living in Portland, Maine, and my third child is Cailea who is 21. also living in Portland and going to school as well as working at the YMCA in the before and after school childcare program.
I had worked as a Parts Manager for an Agricultural Dealership for seventeen years before being fired for forgetfullness. I was later diagnosed with Dementia, possiby being brought on by Traumatic Brain Injury. I am awaiting a hearing from the Disability Department in our state. This has been going on for nearly two years.
I have started a blog as a way of getting things off my chest, but also to tell the stories of my childhood for my kids. There are so many stories that I want to tell them about my childhood. I want them to know and understand what it was like growing up on a small Dairy farm in Maine. I want them to knoiw what it was like to be one of six children, and I want them to know what it was like to be poor. I pray that they hold on to these stories after I am gone, and are able to tell their children my story.
