Russell Hoyt

Russell Hoyt was hired as the Director of Evangelization and Catechesis in the Diocese of Austin in October 2022. He has lived and served in Texas for more than 8 years, much of that in evangelization, discipleship, and parish renewal.

He holds degrees from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio and Franciscan University in Steubenville. Russell has been sharing the gospel and his personal witness to the Father’s everlasting love since 2002 when Jesus sought him out as a broken kid from western Maryland. Since then he has travelled the country (and the world) sharing the love God and the Church in parishes, missions, and sometimes the barbershop.

He is married to his college sweetheart and has 5 amazing children.

In his free time he puts together Ikea furniture, plays disc golf, and collects books by J.R.R. Tolkien.
