I guess being artistic was a second nature to me, it was flowing through my veins way before I knew it. I recall my Grandmother telling me once how my Grandfather used to sketch, I am yet to see his work or if any exists?, I know that three of my five siblings can create something from nothing. Lesley has taken her artistic talent across the nation as well as around the world but is still unknown, Kerry is now more a Mother than artist so her creative side is now minimal to say the least, Myself I do it when I feel creative, I express myself in word/drawing/photography & now paint. Being part Aboriginal never really influenced my styles nor my Sister Lesley’s until our later years, many reasons I guess as to a 'why' but racism was no doubt a huge factor. As children we had our fair share of it merely associated by our family name even though the Aboriginal 'gene' is not dominant in us all. A mix of acceptance and support from peers we are finally embracing our Culture and we have moved on to explore our People through art.
