Russ Malangen is a Partner at LAB.PH, an economic management development consulting firm in the Philippines. It is the technology arm of the Roxas-Kalaw-Foundation for the Eradication of Poverty (RKF), led by Dr. Sixto K. Roxas. LAB.PH's goal is to assemble and deploy solutions for the unserved and underserved in the Philippines through LAB.PH's managed portfolio of business, scientific, social and technological innovations.

The Lab works with local communities, government agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders to collect and analyze economic, environmental and household data per Congressional District and maximize impact; while each portfolio is customized to address each district’s idiosyncratic needs and subsequent stages of growth and maturity.

The Lab seeks to promote transparency and competition through open data as well as adoption through the availability of relevant platforms, affordable devices, reliable connectivity and intelligent apps.

Russ currently serves as the Philippines QA Manager at Amber, a globally renowned full-service game development and creative services agency. Amber’s staff hails from some of the greatest names in the games industry: Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Gameloft, Namco, and others. We’ve delivered complex projects for all major mobile platforms, PC and console. We’ve employed development frameworks and utilities such as Unity3D, Unreal, Cocos2D, Marmalade, FMOD and proprietary engines. We have a deep understanding of cross-platform development, parallel launch strategies, game mechanics, freemium monetization systems, product analytics and live operations.

In 2015, he founded LX Innovative Solutions, a hardware technology startup that produced modules and IoT-based solutions for different industries. It is defunct as of 2019. In 2018, he was recognized as one of the Top 10 IoT Pioneers under 40 by Connected World Magazine.

Russ was formerly Launchgarage Innovation Hub’s Global Accelerator Exchange Program Manager. He works with accelerators worldwide to conduct inbound and outbound programs for startups.

He is a Partner at the Good City Foundation, with a network of 35+ members across Asia and Africa, established 50+ institutional partners in the Emerging Future Cities Network, 1,000+ alumni in Future City Summit, Development Programs and 5 champion portfolio projects.

Russ is also a core member of the XR Philippines Community, established in 2016.
