Some say luck favours the prepared. If that were true I'd be a boy scout for the ages. Prepared is anything but what I have been for what I can only call the fantastic voyage that my life is, but what I can say is that luck has most certainly found me.
I'm currently the proud father and husband of an amazing family and after spending nearly 10 years moving from contract to contract as a sports administrator/program manager (among other things) I am starting a new chapter of my life working in the banking industry/
In my spare time I moon light as a freelance journalist for Peterborough This Week who are kind enough to publish my work in their biweekly publication. I primarily cover sports, but have been known to through in the odd community interest piece if the opportunity presents itself as well as provide web content and advertorials.
My passion for my sports writing stems not only from my extensive experience in coaching, organizing and promoting sport. It also helps alittle that I minored in English at the University of Western Ontario where I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology.
I'm a certified coach in three sports: volleyball, gymnastics and trampoline. Volleyball is the closest to my heart, having coached college and university teams for nearly 15 years at three different institutions.
In my spare time I enjoy building things (it takes me forever to get anything done), watching anything super natural and trying to get lawn to grown a decent blade of grass.
