Ruth C. Durant is the pen name of singer/songwriter Madiona Caesar, who is the founder of Being Artsy Communications which is headquartered in Brooklyn, New York; and also operates out of North Carolina. Ruth is the author of Days Like This: A Collection of Spiritual Stories to Inspire, The Little Iron Light Post, Morning is for Dancing, Tested: Essays of Encouragement to Free Your Soul, and A Little Journal of Self Discovery, which is a reflection and meditation inspired workbook to help it's reader ask introspective questions with the intention of urging him or her to live the life God intended...their best lives! As of 2015 she hosts spiritual formation workshops at various locations in NYC, and for various churches and other organizations, including the National Organization of University Women (NOUW). She created and hosts the inspired event RAIN which is an intentional networking opportunity for those aspiring in small business to meet others like themselves in NYC. She has worked with NYC to reveal the city's resources to the community in this regard. The first RAIN workshop was held in East New York, Brooklyn at one of the communities first Black owned tea houses.

Ruth holds a B.A. in Political Science from Hampton University, a Certificate in Public Relations from New York University, and a Master's degree in Urban Ministry from Alliance Theological Seminary in New York.
