Phnom Penh, Cambodia

I have just completed a Masters by Research in History at the University of Warwick after which I packed up my suitcases once more and jetted back to the country which has become my second home, Cambodia. After visiting in 2006 on a school trip, Cambodia became my favourite place in the world and this current trip is my fifth to the country. I have travelled throughout South East Asia but always find myself being pulled back to the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh. I am now working here full time, enjoying the culture of the country alongside wonderful friends and experiencing amazing things.

In 2009 I volunteered at the orphanage who now employ me, Sovann Komar. I came to Cambodia with Outreach International (see website link below), a great little British volunteer organisation who found me this wonderful gem of an orphanage and set up a volunteer house for me and nine other gap year volunteers. Most of us have remained great friends as a result of the six months we spent living in Phnom Penh together.

Now I am living with a friend in Phnom Penh city where we both work at NGOs and spend our free time enjoying the street food, cafes, and relaxed expat lifestyle that Cambodia offers. For regular updates on my antics and expeditions, please visit my blog (see link below).
