Dr. Ruth (DVM PhD, because one doctorate wasn't enough) is saving amphibians with sex at the Detroit Zoo. She has always had a fondness for the creatures that receive less attention and less love from the greater public (amphibians, reptiles, and invertebrates). She has devoted her life to the conservation of these animals, starting with salamanders. Salamanders are in critical need of conservation, many going extinct before we realize they need help. Ruth is the Director of the National Amphibian Conservation Center at the Detroit Zoo, where she lives her passion each day.
