Ruth Umoh

I graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.A. in Media and Communication Studies and a double minor in Journalism and Spanish. Since graduating, I have obtained work experience in the media field, building client relations, interacting with press, and cultivating a strong knowledge of the marketing and PR industry.

Recently, I have been working with Mode PR, an agency in Soho, which requires a high degree of proficiency, detail, and organization for several accessory and fashion clients in a high-traffic showroom.

I also worked as a PR and Social Media Coordinator in Chelsea for Body Cosmetica LLC, a health and wellness brand. In this position I spearheaded two accounts, created marketing campaigns, and wrote press releases to garner media attention and enhance brand awareness for our company and its clients.

My knack for Public Relations has extended into the broadcast communications field. I worked with Clear Channel Communications, where I worked with the production and promotions team for our 4 radio stations (93.1 WPOC, Z104.3, Heaven 600, and 102.7 JACK-FM). In this role, I worked with the staff in executing events from start to finish, publicized the expansion of iHeartRadio, and represented Clear Channel and its affiliates at all event locations.

I am highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe programs and have a strong working knowledge of graphic design and social media platforms.

Both my academic background and previous professional experience working in the communications industry, are testaments to the fact that I am an ambitious self-starter, who thrives in a fast pace environment, and possess the ability to meet tight deadlines.
