Ruthy Valdez
Feminine, bubbly, and funny are only three of the endless possible ways to describe this bombshell of Cagayan De Oro who is Ruthy Mae Valdez or Kitty for short. Although this young lady is named after a feline, she is much, much different from a cat. To be honest, the only traits of hers that are similar to the said animal are first, organized. Second, she's fearless. She can come up onstage barefooted with a rag for a wig, patched clothing, and mask with no teeth without being scared of ridicule. Give her a script, and bam! None of you can stop her from what she's doing. Lastly, she's naturally beautiful (Do I have to further explain this part?)
But besides that, she's a pretty random person. One day she'll just come up to you and sing. She goes to another person and starts reciting an original poem. Afterwards she goes somewhere else and does a cartwheel then sits in a corner listening to music. She isn't as lazy as a cat either. She could stay up all night to study or rehearse for an upcoming performance. Trust me, I have witnessed it. Lastly, it would be quite impossible to compare her to a grumpy old cat. This girl is as fun-loving and spritely like a nine-year-old. You can approach her anytime you want, but don't let your guard down, get her mad and you'll regret it for the rest of your life. I know this is a pretty weird and incomprehensible write-up. What can I say? Kitty is a walking mass of contradictions. But one thing's for sure, you are never going to forget Kitty.
Last 2010, Kitty auditioned for the Philippine High School for the Arts. Luckily, she passed. Ever since, she has started mastering the art of theater. She played the role of a Kerubin in "Paglipas ng Limang Taon", Bungal in "Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang", Sarhento in "Mga Lukaret ng Intramuros", Korino in "Paano Man ang Trip Mo", Ondine in "Ondine: Ang Nimfa ng Lawa", Magdabatubalani in "Ang Baldado ng Isla Palasan", and Argia in “Ang Reyna at Ang mga Rebelde”.
