I'm a former partner and co-founder at RVPlusYou.com, a peer to peer RV rental platform. My partner and I sold RVPlusYou in May, 2023. It's currently owned by a San Diego RV rental company.
What am I doing? Well, I still own an international telecommunications network, which I suppose is my “day job”. I've been in telecommunications since the 80's and still have a residual interest in overseas call centers.
Today, most of my time is spent building RV related businesses. You can find me, virtually, at HitchedRVRentals.com. Physically, I'll be on the road with my wife in our RV when our home in SLO isn't rented. Or, we'll be in Mesa, Arizona, our new state domicile where one of our two son's live. Our other lives in San Diego, so we spend time there too.
What is Hitched? Well, it's not a peer to peer RV rental website. HitchedRVRentals.com is really an umbrella company owned by CRL-Enterprise, LLC. in Arizona. We are busy in the RV industry doing primarily three things.
First, we write and photograph RV/travel related content from the road while traveling in our RV. We contract our services to websites looking for content. We visit park campgrounds and capture 360 video's for CampgroundViews.com. This unique website let's you see, choose, and book your campsite online. You can view each campsite at a campground from a “street view”. Trees, slope, width, obstacles, etc. Does it have full hook ups? Is it level? Can I get my rig in that spot? What's the price? How do I book? It's all there.
Second, we rent out our RV when we're not traveling in it. We have several units and we rent them out on RVPlusYou, as well as other peer to peer rental sites. Our son's manage the day to day rental part of the business.
Last, we're building out RV space rentals on private property. It's that extra space you have on your property that you don't use. We turn it into an Airbnb RV space rental with full hook ups and rent it out via Hip Camp and Airbnb. Our current project is a private “micro RV resort”: Multiple private sites with resort like amenities, but in a small, private setting on a unique property. Think resort, but for your RV.
