Sports have been a cornerstone in my life for as long as I can remember. I've been playing football and lacrosse since I could practically walk, so it was certainly strange for me when I came to college and for the first time in my life I had no commitments to a team, no practices to go to, and no games to prepare for. While it was strange at first, I quickly realized there are so many values and characteristics I've learned through sports that have relevance in my life even when I'm not on a field. Discipline, handling adversity, and teamwork are all values I've learned through sports that I've already been able to use throughout my college experience. From transferring my knowledge on how to have fun while going through a 1-9 football season to handling the ups and downs of getting acquainted to college; It's clear to me that sports have been a large part in my life and the development of who I have become as a person.
