Ryan Donahue

Starting in technology in web design, Ryan worked for an ad agency in Philadelphia supporting many clients. Through web design his introduction to programming derived from using his creative skills writing many Flash games and ads. Building games was far more stimulating than web design - they added a challenge from the other of the brain - being both creative and technical would eventually turn into an addiction with computational science for Ryan.

Teaching himself web development with various languages and frameworks, Ryan decided freelancing would allow a schedule opening to pursue an academic discipline in programming. While earning a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics through LaSalle University and Chestnut Hill College, Ryan entered many algorithm design competitions through the ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) and Phi Beta Lambda (Future Business Leaders of America) where he was nationally recognized.

Beyond competitions, Ryan is involved with collegiate/industry groups working on projects heavy into machine learning, natural language processing, and visualization of large data sets. Ryan takes pride in coming up with elegant software solutions, committing to a high level attention to detail and a strong foundation in problem solving and pattern recognition with large data sets.

Ryan is currently employed at HomeNet Automotive Inc, a division of AutoTrader, and now developing .Net, iPhone, iPad and Android front end and server software. He also stays busy collaborating with old friends and former teammates, maintaining and developing mobile applications and games on various app stores. Ryan is also an avid runner, outdoorsman, artificial intelligence hobbyist, and always dabbling in the open source world.
