Ryan Provost

Ryan is a successful executive, manager, mentor, and web engineer with a passion for creating great products and user experiences.

He currently shares his enthusiasm and knowledge as the VP of Engineering at Tykoon - a NYC based startup promoting financial education to both children and their parents. Recently, he has been expanding his role and focusing on bringing internal teams together to increase company productivity and align the company to successfully increase user-engagement and make Tykoon.com "kid awesome".

Prior to Tykoon, Ryan took a leadership role at ANN, Inc. in creating and implementing site optimization strategies for both the Ann Taylor and LOFT websites resulting in reduced load-time while improving usability and interactivity. He was also instrumental in demonstrating and implementing learning and knowledge transfer initiatives across brands and departments.

Ryan had an extensive tenure at Sony where he managed both the network infrastructure and new development of the global mobile media distribution platform and ringtone delivery platform, Sony Music Box, a platform that served more than 10MM page views each month. He successfully proposed and implemented many features that contributed to substantially increasing margins and product usefulness. While at Sony, he also represented Sony at the Connected Media Experience consortium where he successfully lead a refocusing effort to ensure the product more appropriately reflects business requirements. Since his departure, Ryan has continued maintain membership in the consortium as an invited expert.

Despite his corporate experience, however, Ryan is and always will be an entrepreneur at heart; having run his own web design and development agency for several years with clients including CitiGroup and Crain Communications.
