My name is Ryan Bunting and I have an odd affinity for retro games. I'm the sole proprietor of Cartridge Carnage, with guest slots filled in by my good friends.
I've always had a passion for video games, but only just recently began to really flesh them out with the creation of Cartridge Carnage and some of my independent games journalism.
I used to be a staff writer at PixlBit.com, where I was free to review games and discuss topics in the industry whilst still keeping my certain blend of sarcasm and nihilism to provide a few laughs while still getting a solid message across. This freedom as a journalist was cathartic and refreshing.
I rather enjoy death metal and experimental/progressive metal, with some of my favorites being Meshuggah, Periphery, Death, and Nile.
I'm also an independent developer of mobile and PC games, with ZooPop Deluxe! out on Google Play, and GunBeam - a work-in-progress-labor-of-love bullet hell SHMUP, which I'm hoping to release on Steam Greenlight.
I compose music, mostly 80's style electronica and dreampop, and almost strictly instrumental, though I have some very exciting plans to start creating similar music with a vocalist and fellow composer that should yield some great results.
I'm also developing some software for use in the transportation and logistics industry, which should solve some of the major problems when it comes to dispatcher communication and driver preparation.
Beyond that, I'm continuing to delve into ideas for new Android games to create, and I plan on continuing to do so until my creative urges are satisfied and I move onto the next big thing.
I am always looking for collaborators in new endeavors - if you have a great idea and feel that I would be interested, let me know - I love branching out and getting involved in new projects, especially if it's something outside of my comfort zone.
