Ryan Bowers

I am an Attorney with the Corporate and Securities Group at Pepper Hamilton LLP, where I focus my practice on technology law, IP transactions, software licensing, service agreements, and venture capital.

I work with technology, software and internet companies, including startups, drawing on my own programming and startup experience.

I am very passionate about technology - I am proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Wordpress, DNS, have a working knowledge of Ruby on Rails, Git and SQL and am currently learning Objective-C. I have written and lectured on technology and the law, including startups, social media and privacy, founded a software company, and built and launched several websites, blogs and web apps.

I am also passionate about the city of Detroit, and the growth of small businesses in the area, particularly by working with the startup community and representing Small Business Investment Companies.

I also founded RFPattorney.com, a provider of cloud procurement and marketing software for the legal industry.

I graduated with a B.A. from the University of Michigan and earned my J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law, where I was Order of the Coif and Internet editor for the Elder Law Journal. I am admitted to practice in the states of Indiana and Illinois (Michigan pending).
