Ryan Dollar
Student in Athens, Georgia
My name is Ryan Dollar and I am a sophmore at UGA. As a student at UGA my life stays pretty busy. Most of my time during the week is taken up by classes, or work. Other than that I try to spend the rest of my free time hanging out with friends, relaxing, or playing some type of sport. I was born and raised in Atlanta, GA, more specifically on the east side of Atlanta in Decatur.
If you asked people who knew me to describe me I’d hope they’d describe me as laid-back, friendly, or funny. More realistically you’d probably hear words like quite or goofy. Most of my friends call me Ryan, a few close friends call me RD, and my mom still calls me “Me-me” the painfully “adorable” name my brother gave me when I was born because he couldn’t pronounce Ryan. Growing up I wasn’t sure wether to blame my mom for continuing to call me “me-me” despite the endless pleas for her to stop, or my brother for not being able to pronounce Ryan in the first place. My dad called me “Rojo” growing up, a combination of my frist name and Joseph, my middle name, and most of my coaches called me Rhino, not sure why. At this point if I hear a name that starts with an R I turn my head. This past summer, I worked in a warehouse in Smyrna, GA, where my co-workers called me, “Kobe”, because according to them I kind-of looked like him. I don’t see the resemblance, but it stuck. So wether you call me, Ryan, RD, Ryon, Kobe, Dusty, or just that guy over there doesn't matter much to me.
