Ryan Dostalek

I'm a straight-forward, go-get-em type ready to tackle what life throws at me. I've trudged through flood waters, digested school board meetings, froze on the sidelines of state football games and reported on everything in between. In baseball I'd be the utility player. I'm the guy able to handle whatever position needs covering. In college I was the news editor my first semester on staff. Since graduating UW-Eau Claire, I've held positions in various daily and weekly newsrooms as a reporter and sometimes stepping in to pinch-hit on the copy desk. Currently I edit the sports pages at the only Waunakee Tribune in the world. From generating fresh content on our Waunakee Warriors, to editing submitted materials and designing the pages, no two days are the same. I also get to call on my political junkie alter-ego by covering the school board and area town governments. Some of the stories have even garnered award-winning attention from the Wisconsin Newspaper Association. I also have a fascination with the use of multimedia and social networks to report, write and share the news. Though it might not seem like it some days, I do have a little free time, a majority of which I spend with my lovely wife. We try to stay active by hiking, running or doing something that gets us off the couch and into this beautiful world. If we're not out and about, we're either with family, friends or holed up inside with our noses in a good book. I believe every one of us has a story to tell.
