Ryan Elwood

Ryan Elwood has been performing, teaching, writing about, and pushing the connection to the hula hoop for over two years.

Through raw, unbridled honesty to prop manipulation, movement, and writing, she hopes to garner community through connectivity on and off the internet.

Ryan was a resident hoop teacher in New York City, has taught a myriad of workshops across New England, as well as at various festivals [Wildfire (CT), Return to Roots (PA), IgNight (CA), FLAME (GA), and Pyrotrainia (CA)]. She has since transplanted and is living, hooping, and writing at the internationally-recognized Vulcan Lofts in Oakland, CA.

Outside the performance arts and web-world, Ryan spends her time as a copy writer at Tungsten Advertising, convinces folk into buying cookies at Sweet Bar Bakery, traveling, practicing her pop n' lock, and writing poetry as often as humanly possible.
