Ryan Froude – Builder, Visionary, Entrepreneur

Ryan Froude is a Canadian entrepreneur, builder, and leader in the construction and real estate industries. His journey began at just 17–18 years old, when he was already running retail and tech businesses independently while also training and coaching in Muay Thai. From an early age, Ryan demonstrated a rare mix of drive, independence, and ambition—qualities that would later define his success.

At just 19 years old, he opened a restaurant in Toronto’s Yonge and Eglinton area. Although it was a major achievement, he quickly realized the hospitality industry wasn’t aligned with his long-term goals. He soon transitioned into corporate housing, followed by real estate investment and construction—industries where his vision, creativity, and business instincts could truly thrive.

Ryan holds a Bachelor of Construction Management degree from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario. He began his professional career with PCL Construction, one of the largest and most reputable construction companies in North America. At PCL, Ryan was involved in some of Canada’s most significant projects, including hospital developments, major roadworks, office buildings, and outlet malls. This period gave him firsthand exposure to large-scale construction and top-tier project delivery standards—an experience that shaped his strategic mindset and sharpened his ability to lead complex projects with precision and confidence.

Today, Ryan is the co-founder of FMI, a fast-growing commercial construction company operating across British Columbia and Ontario. Known for its bold vision and execution, FMI has become a standout in the industry—growing so quickly and effectively that even competitors take notice. Alongside his wife and lifelong partner, Fereshteh, Ryan has grown FMI into a multimillion-dollar firm, delivering high-impact projects for hospitals, universities, municipalities, and private clients. In parallel, the couple has built a thriving real estate portfolio valued in the multimillions, with a strong emphasis on creating affordable housing opportunities for Canadians—further reinforcing their long-term commitment to meaningful, community-focused development.

Ryan’s story is built on self-reliance and bold action. He was never promoted by anyone or handed opportunities—he either took them or created them. Every step of his path has been self-made, and this lived experience fuels a deep, unshakable belief that anything is possible.
