Ryan Pak

Hello my name is Ryan Pak, and I have been in IB Prep for about half a year now and I have learned many things. For instance, one event that I have the best memory with was the Rude Goldberg project(not saying this becausse of mr.diaz). On this project we had to construct a machine containing 3 simple machines and hit a ping pong ball of a stem 5 feet away. This is also why this area of learning is IB, it has hand on projects that you may do. Some other projects are the bungee jump(with a baseball), balloon rocket and the bridge.

The balloon rocket was that you had to use straws, paper clips and popsicle sticks to see which balloon could go the furthest(this would probably be my second favorite). All these projects I have just mentioned is hand on, but it is also focuses on STEM. STEM is Science technology engineering and math and in all of these rememborable events it uses this. If you ask how, first of all you use science because of the fact of ingenuity. Technology because we use computers to see the instructions and engineering to construct the object. And lastly but not least math, to measure.

For the final and personally one that I dislike the most, 20%. On this year lasting project we have to learn and know about something that you want to do it on. Like gaining knowledge. My 20% is on Taekwondo, which I really want to switch on but pretty fun to learn about. I would really like to switch to soccer, but I will hang on.

One thing that we have only done for aboout 6x is the make stuff mondays. Its when on mondays we construct some type of object to complete a objection, in a single week or a day even. And this is IB prep day after day.
