I have been working in education since 1998, having taught honors chemistry, honors mathematics in both charter and public schools, along with teaching IB MYP/DP chemistry and mathematics in an independent school, Riverstone International School. I ascended the administrative ladder rapidly at Riverstone International School where I advanced to grade level lead, department chair, and head of the Upper School. The Upper School saw tremendous growth both in student population and programmatic expansions. While at Riverstone, I obtained the prestigious certification of National Board Certified Teacher of Science along with receiving the Boise Rotary Award for Distinguished Educators.
In 2008, I became the principal of the High School at Carrollwood Day School. While at the helm of the High School, the division saw enormous growth and programmatic expansions. Under my leadership, the high school grew tremendously and is still continuing to grow. I have continued to further my knowledge of leadership by taking part in Harvard University’s Principal Training Program for New and Aspiring School Leaders, being named a fellow in the prestigious NAIS Aspiring Head of School Institute, attending numerous IB and FCIS trainings, including the respected DP Academy and the FCIS Evaluation Academy, along with being a member of FCIS reaccreditation evaluation teams.
On July 1, 2013 I became the head of school at Carrollwood Day School. To prepare for this important step in my career, I attended both the NAIS and FCIS New Head of School Institutes. As Head of School, I have implemented numerous initiatives centered on the parent/student experience along with leading a capital campaign to add athletic facilities to CDS. Further, I was accepted to the University of Pennsylvania and began working on my doctorate in educational leadership.
