Ryan Powell

Ryan Powell currently serves as a Lead Consultant with IMA Corp., one of the largest privately-held insurance companies in the United States. With nearly 10 years of insurance experience, Ryan Powell is charged with decreasing costs through the creation of collaborative purchasing models for health plans. The scope of his position at IMA Corp. also encompasses the roles of program lead for the firm’s Community Health Plan Model and Midwest Healthcare Alliance, a Captive Health Plan.

Mr. Powell began his career in insurance directly after graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business from Wichita State University in 2003. He participated in Federated Insurance’s 10-month MDT program in Minnesota, then secured a position as an insurance representative in the company’s Central Kansas Region. Realizing that he could serve his clients better by offering more insurance carrier options, he branched out on his own after three years with Federated Insurance and pursued a more consultative approach. As the owner and operator of CIG Benefits, LLC Ryan helped clients find the health plans that met their needs, acting as a consultant rather than a salesperson.
