A native of Calgary, Alberta, Ryan Verra is proving to be an up and comer in the Indy racing scene. Despite driving for less than two years, he has seen many podium finishes and pulled in a first in the 2013 USF2000 National Class, where he won both races at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in California. Ryan Verra’s victory there continued Alliance Autosport’s perfect win record of the season.
Before becoming a professional race driver, Verra found motivation in the mixed martial arts movement and, with training, became an accomplished fighter. His success in this venture encouraged him to open a number of gyms, start his own fight company, and produce a television show for the Fight Network.
With such a large degree of success in his life, Ryan Verra decided it was time to give back. When a friend’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, Verra partnered his company, Verrasport, with the Cancer Research Society to create the “Driven to Research” campaign, where fans of the sport can have their loved ones name put on his race car and be entered to win a ride in a real Indycar.
