Ryan John A. Price
Graphic Designer, Digital Illustrator, and Restorative Artist in Rural Wales
Hello, my name is Ryan! I am a freelance graphic designer, writer and artist based in Wales. I also digitally restore historical documents, old photographs and anything else of importance or sentimental value. My written work has appeared in print in national and local publications, global online publications and in books sold worldwide. my art and design has been featured in music album art, podcast art, book cover art and my branding expertise has been utilised by major national private and public organisations.
Before all this, however, I held a clinical position in the NHS for almost 20 years. During that period, I continued to work as a part-time freelancer alongside my career, but in 2015, I decided to leave the NHS. I relocated to Wales and independently founded a small, independent design studio. All in all, I have been involved in graphic design, digital illustration and restorative art since 2002.
I am originally from Wales and I have lived & worked in Hertfordshire, London (twice) and Leicester for long periods of time. In May 2020, I left London for the second time and returned to the hinterlands of Wales. In late 2020, I began writing my first long-form, non-fiction book, which is due for release next winter. I have one fictional novella published, and an early collection of poetry.
My interests include health & medicine, photography, writing, literature, and I enjoy an eclectic taste in music (for more on that, see music.apple.com/profile/rycariad). I also enjoy contemporary and classic design, the arts, true crime and anything creative. I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors, trying out new art techniques, making fine jewellery and doing anything that keeps my hands busy and my mind active. Recently, that has included taking up physical art again. I support equality for those who are part of the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalised groups. I am a proud black ally and support the ‘Black Lives Matter’ and the ‘Me Too’ movements.
If you’d like to get in touch, please feel free to say hello through any of the links below. I would love to hear from you! My new website is currently in development. In the meantime, to connect with me on Messenger go to m.me/rycariad. I’m still taking on freelance design and writing commissions, and would love to work with you on your next project.
All good things,
Ryan (and his imaginary dog, Garbo)
