Bio –
Alan provided leadership in communications and marketing, fund development and non-profit growth from 1985 to 2020, within non-profit, government and private sectors. He raised over $100 million for worthy causes.
His expertise includes philanthropy, mass media, government relations, major and legacy gifts. He has an MA in professional communication from Royal Roads University.
Alan Rycroft provided leadership at Victoria Cool Aid Society for 15 years, where he was a member of the Senior Management Team as Community Relations Manager. Cool Aid had 350 employees in 19 locations when he retired at the end of 2020.
He was successful in creating a strong public presence for Cool Aid and led in obtaining many millions of dollars for community services, plus the development of five affordable apartment buildings and both Cool Aid Community Health Centres.
As an active volunteer director, Alan helped transform the world-renowned Hermann's Jazz Club into a non-profit: the Arts On View Society.
