S. Evan Wilson
Hello, I would like to formally introduce myself. My name is S. Evan Wilson, I am currently a senior in the Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Program at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. I am also the Vice President of The National Society of Black Engineers - UTK Chapter. Originally from Knoxville, TN, I have had the opportunity to live in the great cities of Altamonte Springs, FL and Roswell, GA. While I have no siblings, I have two loving parents and an incredible extended family that always keeps me entertained.
I recently finished my summer internship as a Continuous Improvement Intern with ConAgra Foods, Inc. at their Peter Pan™ Peanut Butter plant in Sylvester, GA. I was able to gain specialized in training in Focused Improvement and other problem-solving methods as well as gain some experience on the manufacturing and operations side by doing a yield loss analysis project for the whole plant.
While at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, I am currently continuing my undergraduate research that I started over a year ago with the Department of Plant Sciences. My research topic, Development of an Elevated Dissolved Oxygen Treatment System, allowed me to design and carry out my own research project, and enabled me to learn new skills, such as proper research methods and how to use various machines and instruments to help in my research.
In my spare time I work as an Independent Creative Consultant consulting with individuals and small businesses on problems related to graphic design, presentation media, web-based technologies, and various online applications and services. Most recent of which for AboveBored Learning Solutions, LLC.
