Sammy Field
Guildford, UK
PhD student at the University of Southampton investigating the methods used to age human skeletons by their dentition.
I have a BSc in biological anthropology (human evolution, primates, genetics) and an MPhil in archaeology and anthropology. For my MPhil I examined a feature of human bone using a micro-CT scanner. These courses have built up an interest in osteology but I have an interest in all things bony as well as things related to anthropology, evolution and museums.
Previous to starting my PhD I carried out various volunteering roles, which included conducting inventories on multiple skeletal collections at the Royal College of Surgeons, England. I also worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Reading collecting data for a project looking at the evolution of language.
