I've been a Teacher for over thirty years, mostly in Fourth Grade--they're the BEST!

In my career, I've seen a lot of growth in educational trends and it has always been my professional drive to keep my skills up to date with the newest and the best ideas available. With the progress toward Twenty First Century Learning, there is an emphasis on the ongoing evolution of technical fluency. I admire the creative ways that students, teachers, and others use technology. I am learning a lot about what is available. It is an exciting challenge. This is something I struggle with because I have NO Interest in having a digital presence and I am nearing the end of my career. I do not aspire to completely dump my experience and training and learn all new skills. I don't want to be negative or stagnant, but this is how I feel. I feel that many experienced teachers feel marginalized and feel like we are being shoved out of our careers.
