Hi, I’m Sam. I hold a first-class BA(Hons) from Monash University and am a current PhD candidate at Deakin University. I am researching contemporary Western fantasy fiction for young readers, with a focus on textual strategies that blur generational divides, foreground intergenerational kinship, and expand readings of identity, ageing, and development to adulthood. In addition to my research, I sometimes teach undergraduate classes in children's literature at Deakin.

I spend my free time travelling, learning Norwegian, playing piano, running around after my pet cat, and nursing endless cups of soothing, delicious tea.
