Follow Me
Thailand
I was born in the country side of Thailand, surrounded by green trees, dirt, and huge caves. Growing up, I was taught to study hard in school and to be ahead of everyone else in my class. This is why my name is Follow Me. My dad chose this specific "name" for me because he wanted me to grow up to be someone who everyone looks up to. He wanted me to become a leader, not a follower. So, from pre-k to first grade, I was always ranked number one in my class. I was known as the smartest kid around. Before I could take my final exam for second grade, my family flew across the ocean to a new land called America. Life in America was different because for the first few weeks, I would sleep during the day and stay awake during the night. My very first pizza tasted nasty because I didn't know I had to heat it up first; I ate it raw. When I found my first penny, I kept it safe with me wherever I went because I thought it was worth a lot; turns out I was wrong because my neighbor had a box full of them. For the first few months, I visited Thailand every night in my dreams. My first day of school was the worst day in my life. I knew no English (except for a yes and a no), and I was put into a class full of English speaking students; how ironic. One time, a couple of my classmates asked me where I was from and I answered them with a "no" because I had no clue to what they were saying. When I came home that day, I asked my mom what "where are you from?" meant, and she explained it to me because she knew some English, compare to everyone else in the family. I chuckled after I found out the meaning of the question because my answer made no sense. By the end of fourth grade, I knew very little English. Now, my knowledge of English has increased tremendously as I continue to study hard in school. Although I work hard to maintain all A's in all of my classes, I still find time to enjoy my hobbies such as drawing, playing soccer, playing the guitar, and singing. Out of all my hobbies, drawing is my favorite one because art has always been a part of me since I was young. Everyday, my techniques and skills improve, as I continue to grow as an artist. I will always enjoy art as a hobby after high school, because I will be chasing my dream. My dream school is UTSA because I believe it is the best place for me to start towards earning a medical degree. My dream is to become a doctor, so I can travel the world to help the poor and become an admirable person.
