My name is Santiago Alvarez, I was born in Mexico, but when I turned eight, my parents brought me to the United States for a better life. As soon as we arrived, my parents granted me my American Citizenship because my mom was born in Chicago. Adjusting to a new country, new friends and a new life was very hard for me because I had a hard time making friends my first two years since I didn’t speak their language. At ten years old, I began to adjust to this new life and I began to make the best out of it. Being in the USA has opened so many doors for me, we opened our first restaurant in 2012, and our second one in 2015. Furthermore, I worked my self-up to become a first-generation student at the University of Georgia. I still continue to visit Mexico every year because it is a big part of me, in addition, we have an agave plantation that produces tequila that I visit every time I go because it gives me an insight of production. This is an amazing opportunity because it allows me to work with the business and allows me to have a head start in my career, it being International Business. In addition, I enjoy traveling because I love discovering and taking part of different cultures, this being another reason why I decided to major in International Business.
