Life has a way of bringing me full circle.
Exhibit A: loving to dance -watching and participating- in toddler ballet class, adolescent jazz and dance recitals in a day camp setting, as well as dancing all around my house
= participating in zumba class 3 times a week
Exhibit B: watching Stars and Disney on Ice yearly from ~1996-2001
= reunited with the world of skating while watching the Vancouver Olympics 2010 & attending the 2013 Canadian National Figure Skating Championships

Exhibit C: watching (ie obsessing over) Buffy the Vampire Slayer ~2000 and Veronica Mars (2004-7), and being inspired by the female characters
=currently a feminist really interested in how women (in particular) are represented in the media ( specifically movies, tv shows, news coverage)
=added Anthropology as my minor in my undergraduate studies
=critically analyzed Veronica Mars for a 4th year undergraduate seminar
=was an official kickstarter backer for the Veronica Mars movie (!!!! MARCH 14!) :)
Exhibit D: having a tough time negotiating between a feminine and ethnic identity in my adolescence and teenage years
=researched young women's perspectives of their own negotiation of feminine and ethnic identity (for a 4th year undergraduate seminar)
=took a graduate course on feminism and anthropology
=my proposed research for my MA is going to take a look at those two identities and how/if they intersect, and in what ways within an ethnic network organization for business students
Exhibit E: reorganizing my room annually (since me and my sisters switched around re:sharing a room and having our own)
=my interest in room organization (aka interior design and decoration) really helped me research more in-depth as part of my research assistantship (the professor I work for is researching interior design and home renovation and its history and connection to class, etc)
Exhibit F: starting to write chapters for a book ~2001 and mini poems, short stories for school, as well as researching and writing a few chapters of my own book ~2008-9
=Writer's Craft in high school was one of my favourite classes
= wrote a lifestyle column for a university college magazine during my last year in undergrad
