Sarah Lynch

Hi there my name is Sarah Lynch and i am a 3rd year student who is currently studying Film and Television at Southampton Solent University.

I consider myself as a a confident, self-motivated individual with outstanding teamwork abilities and communication skills (both written and verbal). I am innovative and able to perform well and efficiently, either independently or collaboratively. Being able to meet deadlines is a skill that I have acquired whilst reading for my degree and has been consolidated via working within a range of professional environments. I am both creative, resourceful and someone who has the ability to problem solve quickly and efficiently in a time sensitive environment.

Within my course I have been given fantastic opportunities to work within a variety of different fields such as; Producer, editor, camera operator, lighting operator and floor manager. Not only have I had the chance to work in our university studio building sets to film and create a TV sitcom and a game show, I have also worked outside on location where my abilities have been tested to be consistent, resourceful and reliable to make sure I could tackle the obstacles that comes with filming outside.

Although I enjoy creating all aspects of film, my passion lies within shooting music videos. I first discovered this back in college where i directed, produced and edited my own music video and won two awards. Being acknowledged for my hard work made me realise this was really something I wanted to pursue as I could create something through my own vision and ingenuity.

I have been offered multiple opportunities to develop my skills in freelancing and work experience for BBC3 from the contacts I have and through networking. This will be something I shall follow through with once I have completed my degree so i can get myself into the entertainment industry.
