Sebastian Schumann
Bratislava, Slovakia
For more than eight years, I am working for Slovak Telekom, the largest Telecom operator in Slovakia. I deal with the following topics (or dealt with it intensely in the past):
- Next Generation Networks (NGN), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), hosted PBX
- Services in NGN (Presence, Instant Messaging (IM), integrated IP services, RCS)
- Transformation of communications services towards the Internet (VoIP, WebRTC)
- Open-source applications in telecommunications (services, platforms)
- Application and service design, integration, and implementation
Specialties: My focus is on IP based Telco platforms (incl. the convergence of legacy equipment) and their convergence within the ever-growing competitive service market. I am currently working on making service creation and implementation more efficient - both by design and technically.
In my spare time, I am active at the Slovak University of Technology and do some research in next-generation identity management and its potential in service personalization and collaboration.
I published several papers mainly about presence management, next-generation Telco infrastructures, and service convergence.
If you happen to be interest in collaborating in some of the above mentioned areas, I would be happy to work with you in the ngnlab.eu initiative. We strive to bring education and industry together and are an active & international group of future X, next-gen Y, and Z innovation enthusiasts :)
