I joined the IAS in 1982 and resigned in January 2001 after it became clear that India’s corrupt governance system can’t be reformed from within. I wrote about the required reforms in Breaking Free Of Nehru (Anthem Press, 2008).

I sometimes write for the Times of India (also a 2007 write-up), CNN News18, The Wire, Smart Governance, Freedom First and run a blog. I’m available on Facebook, Twitter, Quora and Linkedin. I am working on my manuscript, Discovery of Freedom.

I am a member of Swarna Bharat Party, India’s only liberal party. It is the only party in India that rejects socialism outright.
