Student and Writer in Johannesburg
Hello, I am Sabina Shakwane Bapela currently pursuing my Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Johannesburg. I am employed as a Sepedi Tutor in the Department of African Languages where I have the privilege of supporting second-year students in their academic journey. Assisting students to grow in confidence and succeed in their studies is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work.
Ka Sepedi ba re ‘Thuto ke mabelega batho’ which translates to Education carries humans and that has influenced my passion towards continuous learning and personal growth. Beyond academics, I have a deep passion for poetry writing which allows me to express my creativity and connect with people through words. I enjoy exploring ideas, emotions and culture through my writing and I believe that language has the power to inspire, educate and bring people together.
As a 21st-century teacher, I am particularly interested in exploring the role of technology in education and how digital tools can enhance teaching, learning and student engagement. Whether I am mentoring my students, writing poetry or discovering new ways to improve my skills, I embrace every opportunity to learn and make a meaningful impact. I look forward to growing as a lifelong learner.
MY INTERESTS: Poetry writing, Educational technology, Music, African Culture.
