I was born on the 25 of June 1989, in Craiova, a small city located in the south-eastern area of Romania.
I was one of those kids who drew on walls, obsessed over her favorite daytime cartoons and would rather spend her entire time indoors partaking in whatever childish activities a 5 year-old found amusing at the time, rather than actually spend it interacting with children of the same age.
I decided my career path of being a cartoonist at 17, when my passion for drawing resurfaced once again after many years of inactivity. I then enrolled at The University of Craiova’s Faculty of Automation, Computers and Electronics in the Multimedia Systems Engineering department, where I discovered the art of web-design and digital painting.
Since then I have continuously tried to improve myself and my work as a graphic designer, either by constant practice, doing odd jobs here and there, or by collaborating with already established professionals.
My work process always begins with a pencil and a piece of paper. If I’m working on an illustration, I always do some quick sketches to get a general idea of what I want to do, and if I’m working on a website I will always start off by drawing a detailed wireframe for it.
After I have everything planned out, I switch to the software of my choice or the one that is required by the client. I prefer to use Adobe Photoshop™, Adobe Illustrator™, PaintTool SAI™, and a few others which I will not bother to name here.
I am influenced by an array of wonderful artists like Andy Warhol, Walt Disney, Leonardo DaVinci, Craig McCracken, Tex Avery, Genndy Tartakovsky, Lauren Faust and various Japanese artists and animators, to name only a few.
I have many hobbies and interests besides drawing and painting. I enjoy writing very much; I find that when one has an overactive imagination like myself, words are an excellent medium of expression, sometimes even more powerful than visual art. Music is also something I love deeply, from classical to hard rock, to ‘70s disco, to ‘90s pop, to heavy metal, I listen to most types of music and I can’t imagine my days without having some tunes in the background.
I will never claim that I am an expert, but I will always claim that I intend to get
