**An enterprising public administration leader with over a decade of professional experience, including a broad background in both the government and non-profit sectors. Sabrina's expertise is in project management, program and fund development and government relations. Ms. Saunders is currently the Pittsburgh Executive Director for Strong Women, Strong Girls. As the Pittsburgh Executive Director, Sabrina is responsible for the strategic development, management, and enhancement of Pittsburgh operations, as well as generating financial and community resources to support the mission of Strong Women, Strong Girls locally.
She previously served as Director of Education and Youth Development for the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh responsible for the departments daily operations, staff and the coordination of 7 education and youth programs. She is also the Co-Director of the Black Male Leadership Development Institute.**
While working in the government sector for 8 years she has held the position of Youth Policy Manager for City of Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and is credited for the establishment of the city's Graduate Pittsburgh Summit, a community-wide effort to combat the high school dropout epidemic. *_She also served as Special Assistant to the Mayor and prior to her transition to the City of Pittsburgh, Sabrina worked as a Departments of State, Education and Homeland Security field representative for U.S. Congressman Mike Doyle._*
Ms. Saunders is deeply involved in public service, as well as political and community organizations, where she serves in a variety of leadership roles.Sabrina is a member of the Urban League of Pittsburgh Charter School Board; the Mount Ararat Community Activity Center, YouthPlaces Inc., and A+ Schools Boards of Directors; and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Youth Outcomes, and Pittsburgh Pirates Diversity Advisory Boards. She is the immediate past President of the Urban League Young Professionals of Greater Pittsburgh.
Sabrina was a 2008 Pittsburgh Magazine "40 under 40" award recipient and a 2009 recipient of Ebony Magazine's Top 30 Young Leaders of the Future, designation. She was honored by the Pittsburgh Courier with a 2010 "Fab 40" award and was named one of Pittsburgh's "50 Finest" by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and Whirl Magazine in 2010 as well.
