Sabrina Hope Hasna Johnson has spent time in both the for profit and nonprofit sectors doing public relations, marketing and event coordination for such organizations as The Metro Orlando Economic Development Commission, the Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival, Bacardi USA, and Tijuana Flats. As the first Manager of Marketing and Corporate Sponsorship for the Mary Brogan Museum of Art and Science in Tallahassee, Florida, Sabrina helped to coordinate exhibition openings, garner media attention and plan their largest annual fundraiser, The Florida Wine Festival, for two years before pursuing further education to enhance her career in nonprofit arts management. Now completing her Masters of Arts in Arts Administration from the Savannah College of Art and Design, she is writing the thesis: DANCING ACROSS BORDERS: International Cultural Exchange and the Imbalance of the Export of American Dance. Sabrina joined DanceWorks Chicago in August of 2012, as the first non-founding employee. Originally from Orlando, Florida, Sabrina received her dance training in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, from the National Ballet School of Canada, Claude Watson School for the Arts, and the Canadian Contemporary Dance Theatre before returning to Florida to complete her Bachelors of Arts in Advertising and Public Relations with a Minor in Marketing from the University of Central Florida. An avid traveler, Sabrina feels blessed to have backpacked across Thailand, visited Belize, Costa Rica, England, France, Italy, Mexico, Wales and is looking forward to time in North Africa this spring. Truly a development professional, her greatest joy comes from relationship building and making connections—enabling artistic or social missions to come to fruition.
