Stanley Brown

Stanley is a senior at Texas Southern University majoring in Radio, Television, and Film Production with a minor in Journalism. Stanley's enthusiasm for advertising has grown over the years stemming from watching the Superbowl. As a young child he wondered what went into creating some of the ads that we see daily. Stanley hopes to be an inspiration to other people of color to join in the advertising profession which is seldom explored by African-Americans and other people of color as a career option.

Stanley is currently working on building a spec portfolio to showcase his skills in Adobe Creative Suite in an effort to obtain an internship to learn more about the creative process of advertising. Stanley is also immersing himself more in ad culture through twitter (@FutureAdMan) and his WordPress blog. He has made websites such as AdAge.com, Adweek.com, and creativity-online.com regular stops when surfing the web. What Stanley lacks in experience he makes up for in his eagerness and drive to learn about anything advertising. As part of his vigor for success he is interested in attending Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA to further acquire knowledge and skills to be a successful art director.

When Stanley isn't in class, working at his "day job", or educating himself about ad culture he enjoys photography, he's an avid reader as well as a fan of football and basketball. Stanley is also a lover of anything that has to do with the arts including poetry, theatre, and writing. Stanley also has an eclectic taste in music ranging from jazz, R&B, hip-hop, to alternative rock and pretty much anything in between.
