Raerae Sack
Burlington Township, New Jersey
Hi everyone and welcome to the world of Rachel Sianeh Harriet Sackie. I was born and raised in West Africa, to be precise, Monrovia, Liberia. I’m the oldest of four children and grewing up my life was impacted tremendously as a result of growing up in a third world country with regular wars. I’ve seen people killed right in front me.
Attending school was very difficult. It was normal to have to run and hide in the bushes.
Nevertheless, I attended kindergarten, elementary, and high school at the Calvary Baptist School, where I graduated with a diploma. After graduation, I was accepted at the University of Liberia, where I studied for two semesters until I got an opportunity to move to the United States of America. Upon arriving in America, I decided to continue my education and enrolled at Burlington County College. Later, I transferred to Camden County College, where I’m currently seeking a degree in Nursing.
I love school, and I’m a rock star student! But there is more to me: I am also a wonderful, loving and caring mother, of two beautiful and adorable twin girls. Since their birth, my life has totally changed and in a very good way. I am more focused, dedicated and self-confident in what I do, especially with school. My girls mean the world to me. There is nothing I won’t do for them. In conclusion, coming from a third world country, being an independent student and a mother takes a lot; however, I’m keeping my head up high because I know it going to pay off one day.
