Alan Dunn

I always played most sports growing up, including football, baseball, basketball, and lacrosse. As a 12 year old I decided to commit to only football and lacrosse for the remainder of my athletic career. However, in 9th grade I was involved in a large collision in a football game that injured my neck and gave me a concussion. That was the last play of football I ever played, but I was still able to play lacrosse because of the less severe collisions. So for the remainder of my high school career I played lacrosse on my high school team and on a travel team in the summer. As a junior, only one week before the playoffs, I broke my leg in a bad accident. Another player fell on my leg and I broke my tibia and fibula completely in half. This injury was actually very disappointing to me because I was worried that I would miss my senior season as well as the remainder of my junior season. The offseason after this injury, I worked harder than I ever had before to recover and be in great shape for my senior season. I was able to play my senior season but I wasn’t as good as I know I would’ve been without an injury. I had a ton of fun my senior year and made some great memories, but I always wonder what I could’ve accomplished without a broken leg.
