Sadako Pointer
In a generation where musical talent can be camouflaged by inauthenticity, Sadako Pointer's genuine, passionate style is a breath of fresh air. As a professional singer and dancer, Sadako has been showcasing her skills onstage for more than a decade. Sadako's performances inspired the inimitable Pointer Sisters to recruit her when they needed an additional group member just over three years ago. As the granddaughter of Ruth Pointer, Sadako's natural synergy with the Pointer Sisters has added a new energy to the stage presence of the group.
Sadako's skills and ambition have provided many opportunities for her professional growth. Growing up on both coasts from California to New York, Sadako is no stranger to traveling. So far, Sadako has hit the stage in Canada, Thailand, France, New Zealand, Australia, Austria, Russia, Spain, and Singapore. She has also been fortunate enough to perform on the stage of The Greek Theater, The Roxy Theater, at the Save the World Awards, and at the 1st Annual World Fitness Day.
Sadako has accomplished a great deal for someone so young. She has shared the stage with some of the hottest legends in the music industry. Besides her famous family members, the Pointer Sisters with whom she currently tours, Sadako has performed with Jermaine Jackson, Jane Fonda, Chaka Khan, Ludacris, The Temptations, Mark Ronson, Sister Sledge, The Bee Gees, The 4 Tops, Wendi Williams, and the Reverend Al Green.
As a Pointer Sister, Sadako demonstrates a rare ability to balance old school style with a youthful flare. She holds her own vocally, completing the intact harmonies with Ruth and her great-aunt Anita Pointer, while unleashing her own energetic dance moves donning short dresses and high heels. Sadako already has the stage presence required of the star she is becoming.
