The best thing that I have learned this semester is how to use the university services. Ohio State has many resources that students have at their fingertips and just don't know about it. One of the most important things that really stuck out to me was when we were planning our weekly schedules; I really realized how viable my time was. You realize how much time you waste doing an important things; such as encountering distractions. There are many things that I have learned from this course that will stay with me for life. All the strategies that I have burned throughout the scores are not only meant to be used in the classroom but are also meant to be used outside as well. And I believe this course has given me the proper tools that I will use throughout my life!
One of my top strengths that I really identify with is competition. This means that I am extremely competitive and all tasks even if it is something little. I am always aware of others performances and I'm always trying to do better than them in whatever they are doing. I do not quit at a task until I am satisfied and or comfortable with the outcome. Identify with the strength the most because I am not a quitter. I do not like losing to anyone and I do not allow myself to not perform my best when I am dedicated and coming on top. I do not like making excuses for myself and I know that God has given me talents with my athletic career and my educational talents.The assignment, dream job, was beneficial because I was able to research my dream job. The activity was to search for dream job and print out your job description from specific websites such as monster.com. All I had to do for this assignment was pretty out my results, no typing needed, and we discussed our jobs in the following class. I learned about all of the necessary information for being an orthopedic physician such a salaries, amount of schooling needed, and all of the prerequisites needed for the job. What I learned can help me in the future by just allowing me to be ready and prepared for what I am getting into. This assignment help me to be reminded of all of the work I have to put in to becoming a doctor. Another assignment I did and enjoyed was, my Ohio State tradition. This activity was to write about our favorite tradition that we partake in on campus. I wrote about chipping in to Miralake and how I was so excited to partake in the tradition. Unfortunately I track and field coach advise me of my teammates not to be involved because of the many dangerous risks that are involved with jumping into the lake; such as sustaining a physical injury, and/or getting sick from the dangerously cold temperatures combined with the lakes temperature itself. From this assignment I learned many things I do on campus that can be considered as a tradition. Traditions are important to partake in because it makes you feel like there is a sense of belonging. What I learned in this assignment will help me in the future because I have learned how to get involved and involve myself in numerous amounts of activities. Involvement allies people to be more outgoing feel a part of something that is bigger than themselves.
